FT ASSOCIATION

Facet Theory Association (FTA) is an international association of scholars committed to the advancement and dissemination of Facet Theory. FTA was founded in Jerusalem on November 14, 1991. The founding members were (in alphabetical order): Ingwer Borg, Dov Elizur, Ruth Guttman, Shlomit Levy, Adi Raveh, Shalom Schwartz, and Samuel Shye. FTA is open to all scholars and students interested in learning, applying, developing and disseminating Facet Theory. Its membership includes people from many countries including the U.S., Latin America, Europe, Israel, and China.

 

The charter of FTA specifies that its aims are to promote the knowledge, development, application and dissemination of Facet Theory. These will be achieved by facilitating communication, interaction, and the exchange of ideas among scholars engaged in Facet Theory, and encouraging scientific publications reporting research and developments in Facet Theory. The official language of the association is English.

 

International Facet Theory Conferences are held every two years, and begun before the formal establishment of FTA. Conferences were held in Guildford, UK (1984; 1989); Jerusalem, Israel (1991); Prague, Czech Republic (1993); Amsterdam, The Netherlands (1995); Liverpool, UK (1997); Philadelphia, (2007); Jerusalem (2009); Huddersfield, UK (2011) Recife, Brazil (2013); New York (2015); Netanya, Israel (2017).
